At the I Sea You Kolobrzeg 2024 festival, we introduced SIGNAL, a distinctive sound project that integrates art, technology and public space. The installation on the beach employed cutting-edge technology to enable the audience to be influenced by the sounds played by interacting with the space, thereby creating unique soundtracks as they walked along the beach.

The project featured the following vocalists: Mijke Sekhuis (NL), Sarah Dacey (UK), Weronika Włodarczyk (PL) and Sandra Niekorek (PL) were the vocalists. Emke Idema supervised the choreography.

Strijbos & Van Rijswijk presented an extraordinary project combining singing with the seaside space in the heart of Poland’s largest health resort. The festival reached its climax on Sunday at sunset. The project used live sound in conjunction with an extraordinary summer evening on the Kołobrzeg beach.

The interactive spectacle attracted hundreds of spectators to the area around the pier and the Central Beach. It will remain in the memories of Kołobrzeg residents and tourists for a long time. It marks the start of a new chapter in the artistic vision of the city, which is a finalist in the competition for the title of European Capital of Culture in 2029.

"Our installations and compositions transform the familiar into the extraordinary. In our work we use live and recorded sound, digital and analog, live performances and the place where they take place. We build new, unique musical tools and platforms. We play with the perception of what is real and what is not"

Rob van Rijswijk & Jeroen Strijbos
