Our new site-specific performance, TEMPO RUBATO - Walk With Me, a piece about ‘stolen time’, at Mittelfest Festival was presented in Cividale del Friuli (Italy). This sound project in the form of an app explores the relationship between sound and space, allowing spectators to freely choose their own ending.

We performed our new site-specific performance, TEMPO RUBATO – Walk With Me, a piece about ‘stolen time’, at Mittelfest Festival in Cividale del Friuli (Italy).

Exploring the relationship between sound and space, Strijbos & Van Rijswijk – already guests in 2021 with Signal in Forum Iulii – have devised a new site-specific performance, Tempo rubato – Walk with me, a sound project in the form of an app that can be enjoyed from the comfort of your smartphone. In walkscape, nature, music and narrative voice mix and overlap with the sounds of the surrounding environment through real-time sound processing. Each spectator, walking through the streets of Cividale del Friuli with a smartphone and headphones, following the directions of the app, builds a personal sound story, freely choosing their own ending.

This sound project in the form of an app explores the relationship between sound and space, allowing spectators to freely choose their own ending. Our team includes artist Rita Hoofwijk, soprano Laura Giavon and libretto writer Giacomo Pedini, who are closely working with us to create a special version of Walk with Me, exclusively for the Mittelfest’23.
